A delicious and refreshing dessert called guinomis na melon which is very similar to our all time favorite halo-halo. This is usually served in summer and originally this dessert came from Visayan region and if I’m not mistaken, it originated in Cebu. One distinguishing feature of this cold dessert that differentiate it to halo-halo is the use of coconut milk. On halo-halo, milk is used as a creamer.
Guinomis na Melon
Ingredients
- 5 pandan leaves cut into several pieces
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup sago
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup coconut cream
- 1 cup melon strips
- 2 Tbsp. gulaman
- 1/4 cup pinipig
Instructions
How to make guinomis na melon:
- Boil pandan leaves in water. Add sugar and sago. Continue boiling until sago is cooked.
- Remove pandan leaves and add coconut cream. Cool. Add melon strips and human.
- Pour into glasses or coconut shells. Top with pinipig.
