A delicious and healthy salad recipe combining fruit and vegetable. The pomelo and lettuce salad garnished with chopped nuts and with two kinds of dressing that will suit your taste. Option 1 is made from Thai chili sauce mixed with sesame oil, sugar, salt, salad oil and hot water. Option 2 is made with red vinegar (cane vinegar) mixed with sugar, cornstarch, chili pepper, sesame oil, salad oil and rock salt.
How to Make Pomelo - Lettuce Salad
Ingredients
- 1 small head lettuce
- 1 pomelo suha, peeled into segments and broken into small bite size pieces
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts walnuts, pecans, cashew, peanuts, or combination
Sauce 1:
- 1/2 cup sweet Thai chili sauce for chicken
- 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. rock salt
- 2 tbsp. salad oil
Sauce 2:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. cornstarch or cassava flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup red vinegar
- 1 tsp. finely chopped chili pepper siling labuyo or long chili
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- 2 tbsp. salad oil
- 1/2 tsp. rock salt

How to make Pomelo - Lettuce Salad
- Wash lettuce and pat dry with a clean towel. Tear into bite size pieces. Combine lettuce, pomelo and nuts in a salad bowl. Serve with sauce 1 and sauce 2.
Sauce 1:
- in a small bowl, mix all ingredients together until well blended
Sauce 2:
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir in water and vinegar and bring to a slow boil. when mixture thickens slightly, add chili, oil and salt. remove from fire and let cool.
